practice areas of information technology, privacy, data protection,
ecommerce, outsourcing, the Internet and related areas;
- To foster the professional development of its members
through education and networking opportunities; and,
- To promote the development of best practices in the
practice areas covered by the Committee.
The Committee meets, holds events and shares information on a regular basis
throughout the year, including in monthly calls, web casts, presentations at
the ACC Annual Meeting, written and electronic materials, and events
co-sponsored with local ACC Chapters.
The Committee maintains its own web site using open source software,
freeware and other widely available technology. This extranet facilitates
communication and information sharing among the Committee members via the
Internet and social networks. The web site also serves as a fun,
real-world learning experience for members to enhance their familiarity with
new technologies and the application of associated laws and regulations.
